Adler Graduate School is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, offering a Master of Arts Degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy, Post-Master's Licensure Options, and Certificates in Specialty Area Programs. Our courses are specifically designed to accommodate the busy schedules of working adults, with many classes held online, during evenings, and on weekends. Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Become an LPCC with guidance from experienced faculty and a competency-based curriculum. Hands-on training and field experience prepare graduates to work with a variety of clients through a comprehensive approach. Learn prevention, intervention, & clinical skills essential for practicing effective & ethical clinical counseling.

Certificate Programs (Accredited by the HLC)

  • Applied Adlerian Psychology
    The Certificate in Applied Adlerian Psychology is a unique online program for mental health and human services professionals to study Adlerian psychology, its theoretical foundations, and its practical applications. This 20-credit certificate requires successful completion of a combination of required courses.
  • Clinical Mental Health Counseling
    The post master’s Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) is a 16-hour organized sequence of study designed to add on as an endorsement for licensure to meet state credentialing requirements. This post master’s Certificate builds on the foundation of courses taken in a previous master’s level counseling degree. 
  • Co-Occurring Disorders
    The Certificate in Co-Occurring Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders emphasizes the progressive approach to working with people that have both mental health and substance use disorders, helping the client and therapist move toward a more holistic, integrated, and positive outcome. This 18-23 credit certificate requires successful completion of a combination of required courses and internship components.

Post Master's Degree Licensure Options 

Students desiring to add a licensure or credential to an existing master's degree may be able to such requirements through a special licensure/ credentialing process.  Please see specific program pages for specific details and requirements.
