The MFT program is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and has been since 1991. We have identified Program Goals and Student Learning Outcomes that align with our program mission.
Degree Completion Requirements & Timeline
In order to maintain good standing in the program, students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and be on track to complete their Master’s degrees within four years of matriculation. Students with extenuating circumstances may have up to seven years to complete the degree program. For more information, see the student handbook for the 7 year rule. Students are, in every respect, expected to adhere to the AAMFT Code of Ethics. Students’ performance regarding their good standing in the program will be reviewed each term. For the timeline, please see the Required Courses tab via the MFT Program Page.
Retention
The Academic Council and Registrar’s office meet quarterly to review student retention data. Upon review, the Academic Advisor or Program Director outreach students who are not yet registered for at least one course in the upcoming term, unless the Advisor already has information regarding the student. For example, a student may need to take a term or session off to attend to a family matter. If the Advisor is aware, no additional outreach is necessary.
Technology Requirements and Technical Training for Students, Faculty, and Supervisors
Moodle is the Learning Management system used at Adler Graduate School for online and on-ground courses and field experience classes. Students are introduced to this software in Graduate School 101 and have access to Moodle technical support seven days a week. System Requirements are available by accessing Moodle.
