Jared Bostrom, MA, LMFT, LADC, CPRP

Adjunct Faculty Member

Jared is the Executive Director at Progress Valley, Inc, a non-profit organization that provides treatment services and sober housing for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders. He has a Doctorate of Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, Twin Cities, and is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP).

Jared has held a variety of clinical, leadership, and administrative positions in the mental and chemical health systems, primarily in service to adults with co-occurring disorders. He is passionate about integrated and innovative person centered care, and believes that services should be provided in a manner that is flexible, ethical, and most likely to be effective. Through various forms, Jared has also enjoyed the privilege of helping to educate, develop, and support the individuals who provide, or will one day provide, clinical services to those in need.

As an educator, my goal is to facilitate learning for each student in ways that are relevant to them. I see my role not only as providing information and showing how that is applied, but as assisting students in developing as individuals, professionals, and clinicians. Helping them create and expand this professional identity and way of working is a unique process for each person and requires much more than requisite knowledge. I also believe in providing students with encouragement, empowerment, and accountability to the process of education, to the profession, and to the clients that they will be serving.
