Intro to Adlerian Sand Tray Play Therapy, Susan Dannen, MSW, LICSW, RPT-S - Approved for 12 CE’s
This is a two day event, June 19 and 20, 2020 and both must be attended.
The Intro to Adlerian Sand Tray Play Therapy seminar focuses on how to use Adlerian sand tray play to assess a client's lifestyle, help them gain insight into that lifestyle, and support them in creating change. Come and explore how to use Adlerian sand tray play for assessment, treatment, and getting out "stuck places" in your practice with kids, teens, and adults. You will be able to use these techniques for deepening your understanding of client issues as part of the conceptualization process, for helping clients understand their issues and relationships more clearly, and for helping clients resolve problems and move forward with their lives. We observe and practice sand tray play techniques in the seminar.
1.Learn how to articulate the steps in the Adlerian Play Therapy model & how they relate to sand tray play.
2. learn how to articulate the steps in Adlerian sand tray play work as developed by Terry Kottman.
3.Learn Adlerian sand tray play techniques & when to utilize these techniques
4. Learn how to support clients in gaining insight into lifestyle through Adlerian sand tray play
5. Observe and experience sand trays of participants & self, and practice techniques.
Susan received her graduate degree from Jane Addams College of Social Work and has been in the mental health field for 20 years. Susan has worked as an intensive in-home therapist, a children’s day treatment mental health professional, and as an outpatient therapist in mental health, specializing in children and play therapy. Susan assisted in creating the Minnesota Association of Play Therapy and served as Vice President from 2004-2008. Susan is currently Supervisor of Early Childhood Development, Outpatient, in Des Miones, Iowa
