The workshop will explain the information that will be important to obtain at intake. It will teach techniques that are useful for common marriage issues. It will also explain psycho-educational approaches that provide needed tools for couples to be successful in their relationship.

The objective of this workshop is to help therapists improve their skills in working with couples. It will include intake information needed, ways to work with couples and specific techniques that are effective in bringing about change.

The goals of the workshop are:

1. To learn important intake information for couple counseling

2. to be able to provide to clients with psycho-education regarding how couples function in a healthy marriage.

3.to be able to help the couple learn techniques that help them to solve the problems in the relationship.

4. to be able to help the couple understand the underlying reasons for their negative patterns of behavior in the relationship.
