Life Well Lived: Your Wellness Model - Approved for 6 CE’s

Workshop Description: The concept of wellness has a long history, especially in the medical profession. Gemeinschaftsgefuhl, one of the most important constructs of Individual Psychology, was developed by Alfred Adler beginning in 1918. It has evolved into a criterion for mental health in Individual Psychology, and several Individual Psychologists have used it to develop a model and a measure for wellness. This workshop introduces the participant to 3 prominent wellness models and facilitates the development of personal model of wellness.

This on-line course runs for six weeks with writing activities in each week. Participants should expect to spend 1½ hours each week. Start date January 13, End date February 21, 2020.

Persons successfully completing this workshop will be able to:

    1. Compare and contrast three prominent wellness models, identifying strengths and weaknesses for each model
    2. Articulate the dimensions of a personal model of wellness based on an integration of three prominent wellness models and the Individual Psychology construct of Gemeinschaftsgefuhl (social interest).

Dr. Garrison is a psychologist and an adjunct professor at the Adler graduate School in Minnesota teaching online classes.
