Susan Dannen, MSW
Susan Dannen recieved her MSW from Univ. of IL, Chicago and has been in the mental health field for over 20 years. She is an LICSW and RPT-S, as well as a Certified Youth Instructor for Yoga Calm. She has spent several years training under Dr. Terry Kottman, the founder of Adlerian Play Therapy, and she is an approved trainer for Adlerian Play Therapy. Susan has worked as an intensive in-home therapist, a children's day treatment therapist, clinical supervisor, program supervisor, and as an outpatient therapist, specializing in children's mental health, trauma, and play therapy. She and her husband were also foster parents for PATH of ND for 6 years and they adopted one of their foster children. Susan has been employed by POR Emotioanl Wellness for the past year as their Director of Play Therapy and Integrative therapies. Susan also assisted in creating the Minnesota Association of Play Therapy and served as Vice President from 2004-2008.

Susan has a passion for working with children and families in a holistic manner. She believes in a systems approach that intimately involves families, schools, and communities working together to help children find hope and healing. She also believes in taking an integrative and creative approach to therapy - utilizing the most effective therapeutic techniques in a purposeful and mindful manner. Susan is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and a Certified Youth Instructor in Yoga Calm.
Susan has a passion for educating others about methods in working with children and families. She completed a Train the Trainer program in 2015 with Dr. Terry Kottman, the creator and founder of Adlerian Play Therapy. She is a trainer/writer for DHS in the Minnesota Child Welfare Training System (MCWTS). She also provides several community and agency seminars throughout the year. Susan is approved to supervise Play Therapists, Social Workers, and LPC/LPCC.
