Lisa Lounsbury, MA, LMFT, ATR

Adjunct Faculty Member

After more than 20 years experience as a professional artist and facilitator of group art projects, Lisa Lounsbury recognized a shift as participants spoke about their internal transformation after a self-portrait workshop she led in 2008. Lisa knew immediately that this was the healing power of creative self-expression. Thus, began her own transformation she went back to school in order to properly support this life-changing work. On her journey, she moved from focusing on an external product (art) to trusting the internal process (art therapy).

Lisa earned a bachelors degree from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, and a masters degree from Adler Graduate School in Richfield. She is now a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Art Therapist. Lisa created her private practice, Art Lab Rx in 2015 and is committed to providing relevant art therapy sessions for a variety of clients, including recovery centers, hospitals and faith-based organizations.

Lisa continues to be a sought-after speaker, an award-winning artist and a community volunteer. She is bilingual (Spanish) and is an avid world traveler.
