946 Introduction to Field Placement

The Professional Development and Practicum Preparation in Marriage and Family Therapy course provides an opportunity for students to explore issues of professional identity and to develop familiarity with some critical areas of professional practice, such as crisis intervention and suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. Students also have an opportunity to examine issues of “best-fit” as they search for sites where they may be placed for field experience. Class discussions include both theoretical models and case studies, and may include experiences that advanced students may have in the field.
