The number of children diagnosed with autism is rising all around the world. Individuals with autism face difficulties with anxiety, communication and sensory problems. Families with children who have autism experience many emotional and learning challenges. Autism has an immense effect on many cultures. This paper will examine the cultural differences in the treatment of autism in China, Israel, India, United Kingdom and Sweden. The beliefs and integration systems of these countries will be discussed and compared. Evidence based research is examined to understand autism and develop individualized programs specific to the entire spectrum of autism. This paper will explore interventions in Applied Behavioral Analysis, Relationship Development Intervention, and Adlerian concepts used primarily in the United States.
