G’s Wine Bar and Café – A Study of Dissipating Structure

This case study reviews how one independently-owned business became a dissipating structure due to lack of leadership and team formation. The purpose of the study was to examine how this lack of leadership and team formation lead to this small organization‘s inability to manage internal and external energy flow, leading to its dissipation. Components studied and measured included: organizational structure; organizational communication and feedback; relationship between the business owner, general manager and stakeholders; effects of professional leadership coaching on general manager and her relationship to the employees and the owner. Background, methodology, results and recommendations will be presented.
