Body and Movement-based Trauma Healing

Trauma significantly impacts our physical, emotional, and psychological identity as well as our interpersonal relationships. This experiential and didactic workshop will introduce somatic and body/movement-based therapy techniques for working with clients who have experienced trauma, including 1) neurological perspectives on the impact of trauma; 2) specific body and movement-based interventions for working with various types of trauma; and 3) considerations for working with groups and individuals from a multicultural perspective. Diagnostic issues and contraindications for embodied trauma work will also be briefly addressed. NBCC approved for 6 CE hours. MFT approved for 5.75 CE hours
