This online course provides 45 hours of training in clinical supervision. The course covers major models of clinical supervision; development and maintenance of the supervisor-supervisee relationship; ethical and legal aspects in clinical supervision; cultural competence in clinical supervision; and structuring, intervention, and evaluation practices in clinical supervision. The course meets the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy educational requirements for licensed professional counselors (LPCs and LPCCs) who intend to seek the approved-supervisor credential.

We live in challenging times and clients who are struggling to function in their lives increasingly impacts our own resilience. Effective self-care is an important component of clinical work. Authentic Movement (AM) is a form of self-directed embodied expression that facilitates deep listening and processing of internal needs and experiences. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to Authentic Movement (AM) as a whole-person self-care practice. We will also explore multi-modal techniques for using AM to unfold less conscious aspects of our experiences.

Trauma significantly impacts our physical, emotional, and psychological identity as well as our interpersonal relationships. This experiential and didactic workshop will introduce somatic and body/movement-based therapy techniques for working with clients who have experienced trauma, including 1) neurological perspectives on the impact of trauma; 2) specific body and movement-based interventions for working with various types of trauma; and 3) considerations for working with groups and individuals from a multicultural perspective.

This course will explore a variety of addictions including, gambling, sex, food, and technology, while the main focus will be on Substance Use Disorders. Students will consider ethical and multicultural issues, and explore how art therapy can be integrated throughout the various stages of recovery. Students will learn through research, reading, discussion, and personal art-based reflection both in and out of the classroom. It is available for 15 hour CE's and is led by Lisa Lounsbury, MA, LMFT, ATR. This interactive training will focus on exploring ways to help families engage and create positive energy through play.  Activities presented can be used with young children, as well as adolescents.   You will gain an understanding of the purpose of children’s behaviors and how you can assist parents in using this knowledge to direct children toward a positive goal.  We will also address the difference between “discipline” and “punishment”, and find ways to “re-frame” behavior, in order to help parents create meaningful change.
