When John was looking for a psychology that was compatible with his world view, he discovered Alfred Adler. "I came out of a community-oriented spirituality," he says, "and a sense of community that exists within my Irish heritage." Those community experiences enabled him to discover who he was relative to the people with whom he lived and associated. "Adlerian Psychology is social, cognitive, behavioral, systemic and community-oriented," says John, "and it really fits the way I am in the world. I was very much at home in that philosophy."
