Your Strengths as an Instructor:

“I believe in the magic of a story. I like to wrap my teaching in a good story and fill my teaching with an even better story.  I am inspired when my students succeed.  I like difficult questions and challenging clinical vignettes presented by students. I don’t know anything more stimulating than that.”

What Brought You to Adlerian Psychology?

“In 1994, with my mother and my son and following in the steps of my younger brother, I moved to this country.  There were many things that I did not know when I arrived: how to drive, how to speak English, how to write a check or how to earn at least a little bit of money to be able to write a check.  Welfare-bound and culturally-aphasic, I desperately needed guidance.  I also wanted to go to school.  I needed a school to be within walking distance.  All together, I knew about ten people in this country.  Challenging my own “firstborn-ness,” I asked my brother for advice.  He told me that there was a graduate school three miles from my apartment.  That was the Alfred Adler Institute of Minnesota.  There are so many places we would never miss in life if we just walked.”
