Trish Fitzgibbons Anderson has a private practice located in Minnetonka, Minnesota, in which she works with individuals, couples and families. She is a court-appointed family mediator and parenting time expeditor. Her individual work specializes in adult anxiety and depression, relationship issues and life transitions. Her couples' work spans the continuum from pre-marital to post-divorce co-parenting consultation, and includes same-sex couples. She has special expertise in divorce and re-marriage issues.
In addition to her faculty position at Adler, Trish is a member of the faculty at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota in the Department of Child and Family Education.
"I had only a superficial knowledge of Adlerian psychology when I began my graduate study," says Trish of her education at Adler. "My continued connection is based on a strong appreciation for the foundational principles of Adler's Individual Psychology." She also says she appreciates how those principles can by integrated with a variety of other psychotherapeutic frameworks.
Trish's students express appreciation for the practical nature of her instruction and for her openness to sharing her own clinical experiences with them. She creates assignments in which students utilize various assessment tools and interventions that they first apply to themselves, and then they are asked to consider their clinical applications. She encourages students to discuss their learning, to question and challenge concepts and to learn from each other.
